I visited the Philippines in October for the MIFAS conference in Manila and toured Palawan by the way. Beautiful beach!
Reminded me very much of Redang, which I visited ages ago. Weather’s similarly hot too. 🙂
Learnt a lot at MIFAS– Dr J Galvez and Dr Akihiro Minami are truly passionate surgeons and take a lot of pride in their work. A lot of innovative techniques and ideas passed through the operating theatres that day.
Sensei teaching very intently… this was one of the highlights in my day: a quick and easy way to do gold thread facial rejuvenation.
Can you see the difference between the left and right half of the face? The result was instantaneous! (Forgive the trickle of blood on the right cheek.)
That concluded our hard work and then comes the fun!
We visited the underground river in Puerto Princessa, which is indeed a wonder of nature. (In fact, it is now contesting to become one of the new seven wonders of the world. You can vote for it online at www.new7wonders.com.)
This is the entrance to the underground river. Very narrow and scary looking, isn’t it?
The river tour had many interesting sights that my cam couldn’t record because it was just too dark inside. If you’re curious, go check it out yourself! 🙂
As part of the excursion, one of our group’s challenges was to try the woodworm. It’s some sorta mollusc, apparently… and is rumoured to increase fertility. Ha… The lady boss who sells this stuff had 15 children by feeding woodworm to her husband!
Beautiful beach resort…
I went snorkelling… and got badly cut on my leg. 😦
Nonetheless, an unforgettable time at Palawan! 🙂
