Use that old brooch for a new look!

I’m sometimes confused about whether this is an aesthetics blog or a fashion blog… since I am soooooo in love with both! I know: it shall simply be a beauty blog. More comprehensive and I feel you can’t have one without the other, don’t you agree? 🙂

I’ve been digging up my old brooches recently… some of which I don’t use anymore, and many of which I didn’t use at all. (^^)”’ So my new project was to reinvent uses for brooches that I’ve become bored of…

A brooch is actually rather fun to use once you get creative with it. Using a brooch changes the way you look, depending on what you use and how. Brooches can be made of fabrics or metals. I have a lot in the form of flowers, with lace, beads and glitter. My favourite one is a golden jewelled tiara that I bought to match my sash. 🙂

Here’re a few pics of me in my brooches!

So what shall I do with old brooches that I’m already sick of using? Put my imagination to work and came up with a few ideas:

Flower up a hat with it.

Use it with a headband… You may also clip it on your hair like any other hairpin. (Nowadays, brooches come with both a pin and a clip at the back.)

Design a new necklace with it. You can clip it onto an existing one, or just use a ribbon and make it into a choker. 🙂

Wear it in your ponytail.

 Get yourself a new bag!

I suppose these are not exhaustive. Have fun brainstorming more ways to use your old brooches or other accessories! (And do share your ideas with me too.) 🙂
