What’s in a name?

The famous speech by Juliet in one of Shakespeares’ greatest plays:

“What’s in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet.”

So what is in your name?

Tiffiny is, clearly, a deviant spelling of Tiffany, which was derived from the Greek word “Theophania”. It means “revelation of God”.

Awesome, huh? Well, 🙂 I don’t profess to be so profound, but I definitely like my name the way it is. It’s really an onomatopoeia of my Chinese name– 静婷 or 婷儿 when pronounced in Cantonese, if you are familiar with the dialect. However, my Chinese name actually carries a different meaning– quiet and ladylikeness. Many people tell me it is indeed a reflection of my personality. Perhaps your name does make you who you are, or you do become what your name is.

So what is in your name? 😀
